An Exclusive Interview With Kick Ass Alyssia

The Redford Club:   What "Shades" do you have "On" RIGHT NOW?
Kick Ass Alyssia: Marc by Marc Jacob Metal Aviators- He’s one my favorite designers when it comes to accessories
TRC: What is the number one thing Keeynote has taught you?
KAS:  I would have to say, investing in marketing per  track singles. I’ve been working in marketing since 2010 for different agencies and brands. When I first started “ I Still Love H.E.R. Inc” with my business partner I knew how to market already however when it came to my music-I got stuck. He definitely opened my eyes to the limitless opportunities I could have if I marketed my music singles correctly. So Im ready to try some of the things I have in mind out.

TRC:

Would you like to expand more on "I Still Love H.E.R."?

KAS:
Of course, it’s so many talented women out here in all four elements of hip hop all over the world. I’d love for us to bring females back to the surface of hip hop and not just an accessory for a rap video. In February we did a “I Still Love H.E.R” in Minneapolis which was a great success. We started this company as a movement not so much just a Chicago event-it’s for women all over the world. We have a block party coming up in Chicago in Wicker Park Oct 6th highlighting graffiti with muralist though. All four elements will be showcased of course. But yeah, we are looking at London next and potentially a nationwide tour featuring artist from all over.

TRC:

What is your favorite thing about Summer?

KAS:
That’s random, lol. My favorite thing about the summer so far is waking up early and meditating by the river. The sun is beaming not too hot and nature is just flowing in the wind. I also enjoy the variety of festivals in Chicago and traveling. The summer brings the great attitude out of people-I appreciate the summer for that.
TRC:
And lastly, any shout outs?
KAS:
Indeed, Shout out to my crew Famsquad and my business partner/friend Lady Gemstar. Big ups to all the female artist involved with “I Still Love H.E.R”  in the past and present too-Chicago and Flint town what up?!? lol aight
